Senior Guys Pictures

I really enjoy photographing high school senior girls, but there's something about a senior guys pictures and seeing them view their images and loving them that just makes this senior photographer's heart happy. I obviously want all of my clients to love their images, but most guys have no desire to have their senior pictures taken. Most times, mom is making them do this because SHE wants the pictures. Don’t get me wrong, some guys love the experience, but the ones who fight mom all the way to the session are my favorite kind of challenge. I take the challenge of making the session “not as bad as I thought” for the senior guy seriously!
I find it helps if the senior guy has a sport or hobby that they like and we can go wild with that. For instance, last year, I had a member of the West Shore Ice Hockey team in front of my camera. So where did we go? To the ice rink, of course. Note to self, when photographing on ice, wear close toed shoes, pants and a sweatshirt. My usual flip flops and capris made for a cold session, especially with the breeze of the senior flying by as I was snapping away. Then I asked him to spray! Yeah, that was chilly, too, but totally worth the finished product. Don’t take it from me. Check out one of their favorite images below!

Maybe your senior boy doesn’t have a hobby or sport. Maybe they are in theater or band or just a high school kid trying to make it to graduation. No matter their life, we can capture some images that will not only make mom happy, but will have the senior not complain the next time mom says the family is coming to AFH for family pictures. Between senior guys and dad’s, Jodi at AFH prides herself on making the session as painless for them as possible. Most guys (dad’s, brothers, Grandpa’s, seniors, all of them) don’t want to get dressed up for a picture. So the easier we can make it on them, the better experience they will have and usually, the happier mom will be.

These are some great ideas for Senior Guys Pictures. Somehow girls jump at the chance to be photographed and guys need that extra bit of encouragement to get the photos taken. Way to draw them in and photograph their euthentic personalities!

They are just fun ideas for senior pictures for guys! I love that hockey picture, any hockey guy would love that! And you're right, making it easy is a big step to getting guys to cooperate for their photo shoot!
