Personal Brand Photos 101 Part 2 | Central PA Branding Pictures

What images do I need for personal branding?

In our last blog, we dove in to what Personal Branding Photos are and why it's important. In this blog we'll explore what we think you should think about before you have anyone take a branding photo of you or your business.

  1. Start with a clear idea of who you/your company is and who you want to work with. If you haven't figured out who you or your company are yet, take time to do this, first. Ask some of your biggest supporters what they think when they think about you and your company. Is your brand formal or more casual? Is your target demographic male or female? Is there something about your product or service you particularly want to promote? Start with these questions and create a list.

  2. What does your target audience want to see? Chances are, it's not what you think it is. When you're the owner of a company, it's tough to see the forest for the trees. People like to see what happens behind the scenes. They want to see how the magic happens. Are you an artist? Show the "tools" that you use to make the art. Are you a blogger? Show your computer, writing tools, inspiration.

  3. Products: What do you sell or make? Even if it's not a physical product, showcasing your work helps people to see what happens behind the scenes. People want to know how the beauty that they see as a finished product comes to life. They want to know what your tax workspace look likes. They want to know what tools their caterer or florist uses to make things happen.

Having an arsenal of images to use on social media helps you to be able to post anything at any time. It's best to be proactive and not reactive with your posts. Have you changed your displays for the upcoming season? Do you have fancy packaging? Both are great things to showcase on social media or your website.

So once you have thought about these things, I recommend you make a list to discuss with your photographer before your branding photo session. They may even have some ideas to add to the list because it is all about collaboration. At AFH Media, we give you a questionnaire to complete to better help us plan a personal brand session that will capture the images that will best help you to tell your company's or personal story!

Personal Brand photos are more than just a headshot. Show your personality. It will help people to know who they are doing business with.
